  • TTCS 2012 AGM IMPORTANT: Reminder, Change of Location and Instructions

    2nd ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING – CHANGE OF LOCATION AND INSTRUCTIONS

    Please note that the venue and time for the 2nd AGM has been changed to SATURDAY, the 24th of November, 2012 from 10:30 am to 2:00 pm at Room 105, Block I (colloquially known as the ‘Circles’ Building), Faculty of Engineering, University of the West Indies, St. Augustine.

    Please respond to this email by Thursday, 22nd November to ensure that lunch will be provided for you at the meeting.

    VOTING BY PROXY

    Members who cannot physically be at the meeting will be allowed to vote by proxy.

    There are two options for this:

    • Fill out and email your completed proxy form by 12 midnight, Friday, 23rd November to [email protected].
    • Fill out and print the proxy form and deliver it at the meeting with either a member or non-member of the TTCS.

    If any of the members require any clarification with respect to the above, they may submit their written query on or before 23rd November, 2012 to the Secretary.

  • Internet Governance Forum from 6-9 November 2012 – How to follow the sessions

    The Seventh Annual Internet Goverance Forum (IGF) Meeting will be held in Baku, Azerbaijan from 6-9 November 2012.

    The proposed main theme for the IGF 2012 meeting is:
    ‘Internet Governance for Sustainable Human, Economic and Social Development’.

    Since the IGF brings together various, diverse Internet Stakeholders to discuss Internet policy issues, there are many conference sessions occuring at the same time.

    The time in Trinidad and Tobago is 8 hours BEFORE the time in Baku, Azerbaijan.

    Given that the IGF 2012 sessions typically runs from 0900 to 1800 local time in Baku each day from November 6-9 2012, that means the the IGF 2012 sessions will be from 0100 (1am) to 1000 (10am) in Trinidad and Tobago.

    Notice is hereby given to all members that the 2nd ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING of The Trinidad and Tobago Computer Society will be held on SATURDAY, the 24th of November, 2012 at 11 AM at The Chancellor Hotel, St. Anns, to transact the following business:

  • TTCS Online meeting on Wednesday August 22 2012 for Planning of a proposed Tech Day in Tobago

    Following initial discussions with TTCS Member Kion Orr in the August Lime and before, the TTCS would like to hold a Tech Day in Tobago in or around October. This initial Skype meeting will deal with feasibility, a proposal for funding and session planning.

    The Skype call will start at promptly 8pm on Wednesday, August 22nd and you are invited to attend. Our Skype contact is trinidadtobagocomputersociety. If you have an interest in planning or attending this event, please make an effort to attend.

  • TTCS OSSWIN DVD v0.8.5 released

    The Trinidad and Tobago Computer Society (TTCS) is pleased to announce
    the availability of the TTCS OSSWIN DVD v0.8.5 as a free download on August 10 2012.

    The TTCS OSSWIN DVD (http://www.ttcsweb.org/osswin-dvd/) is a compilation of 95 Free and Open Source Software programs for Microsoft Windows 7/Vista/XP.

    The web-based interface of the DVD allows you to quickly browse the
    variety of software organised into the following categories:

    • Desktop Applications
    • Educational
    • Games
    • Graphics
    • Internet
    • Server
    • Sound and Video
    • Utilities

    You can use your web browser to read detailed information about each program in this compilation; what the program does, its key features, useful related websites, view a screenshot of the program and find links to the program’s website and to download/install the program from the TTCS OSSWIN DVD.
